Hi everyone, the summer of 2010 is blazing on by and the fishing is hot just like the weather.  The summer pattern definitely has a lock on Calcasieu Lake right now  This is the time of year that all trout and red fishermen anticipate, calm days and light winds.  We have had some really nice catches coming in lately, especially during the periods of cooperative weather.  Calmer days have provided opportunities to fish all along the coast near and in the pass, in the surf and at some of the nearshore platforms.  Nice catches of trout and redfish have been coming from these areas which are the usual summertime haunts.  Redfish have been a staple on our trips all summer and our catch records indicate this to be one of the best seasons for reds on record.  We still have another month of summer style fishing, so if this action appeals to you get on the phone now as we have a few slots available in August.  

Favorable conditions exist in all areas of the Calcasieu system, which is why this time of year is so productive.  Even when the weather isn't completely cooperative, there are plenty of places to hide from the winds.  

As the weather begins to cool in mid september, we will move back inshore exclusively for the remainder of the year.  

Speaking of September, we will be offering some outstanding teal hunting and cast and blast packages for our guests.  We will offer three types of hunts...show up hunts, overnight packages with lodging and meals and our ever popular cast and blast package which allows you to show up in the afternoon and catch some specks and reds, then enjoy our full service lodging and meals package overnight before arising early for some swarming action with blue and green wiged teal in our flooded rice and plowed fields.  Plenty of fast action!!! 

In addition, the regular duck and goose season dates will be out in the next week, so get your guns oiled up and ready and call your friends to join us for a great time.  Check out our season packages, a really good value for avid hunters.
